Pat is a Family Wealth
Consultant and Family Leadership Coach. As an advisor to
families of wealth, family leaders, and family offices Pat provides
coaching and consultation on effective communication about wealth
and its impact on family dynamics, engagement with the rising
generation of family leaders, governance and decision-making in
family business, and vision and mission planning for family
philanthropy and family enterprise. Pat was a co-founder and
senior director of the Institute for Family Culture with Abbot
Downing, Wells Fargo’s multi-family
office and was head of
Family Dynamics at Wells Fargo Family Wealth. She was the human
resources director for Wells Fargo’s Private Bank and held a series
of management roles focused on developing
talent. In her earliest
professional life, Pat was an independent management consultant to
family businesses and nonprofit organizations, a faculty member in
psychology and a mental health program
director. Pat holds a
doctoral degree in psychology
and a certificate in executive coaching from Columbia
University. She is a member of
the Purposeful Planning
Institute (PPI), Family Firm Institute (FFI), the American
Psychological Association (APA) and serves on the Advisory Board of
the Global Family Office Community.

Arne Boudewyn is head
of Abbot Downing’s
Institute for Family Culture (IFC), which includes four centers of excellence focused on
supporting clients with a broad range of qualitative wealth
planning priorities: Family and Business
History; Family Business
Transitions; Family Dynamics,
Education and Governance; and, Family and Social
Impact. In this role he
manages a national consulting team of PhD-level and other advanced
degree professionals who collaborate closely with ultra-high and
high net worth clients on strategies for addressing the complex personal, familial,
and financial dilemmas and opportunities that can accompany
significant wealth and that often determine its impact on current
and future generations and both local and global
communities.
The mission of the IFC includes helping clients to integrate family history and core values into wealth planning and decision making; translate vision and mission statements into actionable solutions; implement successful family communication and family transition strategies; establish effective family governance structures and processes; and define and measure social impact across the domains of philanthropy, investments, and entrepreneurship. A significant emphasis is placed on engaging and preparing rising generation family members for not only the wealth, roles, and responsibilities they may inherit, but also various business, family, and social impact roles they may wish to inhabit, grow, and lead.
Arne has been with Wells Fargo since 2003 and previously held senior leadership roles for the company in Enterprise Human Resources, including as head of the company’s Leave Management, Disability Management and Work Accommodations programs and operations, and with Wells Fargo’s Employee Assistance Consulting. Prior to joining the Wells Fargo, he held program management roles in Kaiser Permanente’s corporate division and with the University of California’s Neurology Department.
He holds PhD, MA and BA degrees in psychology from the University of Massachusetts and completed his clinical training at the University of California San Francisco and Harvard Medical School.
Arne is a frequent speaker at Family Office Exchange, Tiger 21, The Institute for Private Investors, Gleneagles and Family Business Magazine’s Transition’s conferences. He has been quoted or featured in media outlets that include The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, CNBC, American City Business Journals, and Barron’s. He currently sits on the board of directors for Meals on Wheels of San Francisco.
