Head of Institute for Family
Arne Boudewyn is head of Abbot Downing’s Institute for Family Culture (IFC), which includes four centers of excellence focused on supporting clients with a broad range of qualitative wealth planning priorities: Family and Business History; Family Business Transitions; Family Dynamics, Education and Governance; and, Family and Social Impact. In this role he manages a national consulting team of PhD-level and other advanced degree professionals who collaborate closely with ultra-high and high net worth clients on strategies for addressing the complex personal, familial, and financial dilemmas and opportunities that can accompany significant wealth and that often determine its impact on current and future generations and both local and global communities.
The mission of the IFC includes helping clients to integrate family history and core values into wealth planning and decision making; translate vision and mission statements into actionable solutions; implement successful family communication and family transition strategies; establish effective family governance structures and processes; and define and measure social impact across the domains of philanthropy, investments, and entrepreneurship. A significant emphasis is placed on engaging and preparing rising generation family members for not only the wealth, roles, and responsibilities they may inherit, but also various business, family, and social impact roles they may wish to inhabit, grow, and lead.
Arne has been with Wells Fargo since 2003 and previously held senior leadership roles for the company in Enterprise Human Resources, including as head of the company’s Leave Management, Disability Management and Work Accommodations programs and operations, and with Wells Fargo’s Employee Assistance Consulting.
